What is the authorised purpose?

The Oxford Sports Trust Inc. is authorised to give grants
to amateur sport teams & clubs that are formally established
and/or legally constituted.
|
|
The teams or clubs must be competing in recognised leagues
or tournaments.
|
|
Grants can be issued actual and reasonable travel and accommodation
expenses for representatives participating in tournament with
kindred groups within New Zealand.
|
|
Grants can be issued for Sports Equipment, Playing Uniforms
and Ground Hire.
|
Which activities will not be funded?
The Oxford Sports Trust Inc. will not fund -
|
Purchase or subsidy of alcohol |
|
Maintenance or provision of bar facilities of an organisation |
|
Costs associated with staging 'after match' function's |
|
Any purpose which results in any gain commercially for an
Individual or Organisation |
|
Grants to further activities or professional sports persons
unless those persons are used for the coaching, training or
development of amateur sport |
|
Any individual unless the grant is made to and administrated
by an Incorporated sporting body to which the individual is
affiliated |
|
Paying of previously incurred debts |
|
Grants to Non Affiliated sports groups |
|
Grants to clubs that use a commercial gaming venue as a clubroom
or sporting venue |
|
Events or trips which are predominantly social in nature |
|
Prizes for sporting events with the exception of modest non-cash prizes used in genuine community sporting events. |
|
Dress Uniforms for 'after match' functions (playing uniforms
and training uniforms are acceptable) |
|
Affiliation Fees (due to the volume of applications for affiliation fees from a large number of sporting Bodies & Clubs, the Society no longer has funds available for such volume and will no longer consider affiliation fees) |
|
Overseas travel (funds will not be approved for purposes outside New Zealand) |
|
First Aid/Strapping Tape and Physiotherapy services for sports clubs |
When is the close off date to receive an application?
|
All completed applications must be received no later than
the 5th of every month
|
How often do the trustees meet to consider applications?
|
The Trustees hold a meeting once a month
|
When will we know if the application was successful or not?
|
Letters are sent out within a few days of the trustees meeting
|
If we are successful in getting funds, when are the funds deposited
into our organisations bank account?
|
Within a few days of the trustees meeting
|
What are the conditions for the allocation of funds?
|
The funds will be allocated for a particular purpose and
must be used for that purpose. Acceptance of the payment will
be deemed to confirm that the allocation has or will be applied
accordingly.

|
Non compliance will require an amount equal to the funds
allocated to be repaid immediately by the recipient organisation
to the Oxford Sports Trust Inc
|
|
The recipient organisation accept that public disclosure
must be made for any funds allocated as a result of the application
|
|
The Oxford Sports Trust Inc is under no obligation to meet
requests and has complete discretion in allocation of funds
|
|
No applicant may receive more than 20% of the total funds
generated in a 12 month period
|
Can we apply for overseas travel?
|
No. (No funds will be allocated to purposes outside New Zealand) |
What if the event is over?
|
- Grants cannot be paid retrospective
|
What if the event is very soon?
|
All Grants must be applied to specific & future purposes.
All applications must be received within a minimum of 45 days prior to the event date.
|
|
Any deposits paid for an event will not be reimbursed
|
Can we give the venue operator a gift if we are successful?
|
There can be no written or verbal arrangements where there
is a clear commercial benefit to the venue operator in relation
to a grant
|
|
No procurement fee, commission or discount or contra arrangement
of any kind can be entered into with any person(s) associated
with the Oxford Sports Trust Inc or any of their gaming venues
|
What if we are successful with the oxford sports trust inc. And
also successful with another gaming trust, can we use the money
for something else?
|
If you receive funding for the same purpose for which you
were allocated funds from the Oxford Sports Trust Inc. the
funding must be repaid
|
|
The funding must be used for which it was allocated
|
Do we have to send receipts to the Oxford Sports Trust Inc?
|
All receipts of payment for goods & services for the funds
allocated must be forwarded to The Oxford Sports Trust Inc
|
|
Receipts must be for the purpose for which the funds were
allocated and correspond with the total of the funds allocated
|
|
In the event of all funds not being used, a cheque for the
surplus must be sent to The Oxford Sports Trust Inc.
|
|
Failure to return receipts for the use of funds will result
in a request for full payment of the funds allocated.
|
|
All applications are subject to Department of Internal Affairs
audit and further information may be requested from the organisation
|
Does the grant funding contain GST?
|
The allocation of funds made by the Oxford Sports Trust Inc
is an unconditional gift. No portion is claimed by The Oxford
Sports Trust Inc as a deduction for GST paid
|
|
If the applicant is GST registered the funds granted are
GST exclusive
|
|
If the applicant is not GST registered the funds granted
is GST inclusive
|
What if our club is not an incorporated society?
|
The club must be affiliated to an Incorporated Parent Body
before an application will be considered
|
What if our club is not affiliated to a regional or national body?
|
The participating amateur sport club must be taking part
in a legitimate event Sanctioned by a legitimate regional
or national body organised as a body of the sport. The organisation
must have genuine standards and rules, play on a regular basis
as part of a significant competition and be affiliated to
a regional or national body.
